Lindsy Hengesbach

Lindsy obtained her bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from Michigan State University. During her time at Michigan State University, Lindsy served as an Academic Specialist for the Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics Program. For eight years, she instructed courses in Molecular Diagnostics and served as both an Academic Advisor and as the Clinical Coordinator for the NAACLS accredited Diagnostic Molecular Science Program. During this time she also became a certified specialist in Molecular Biologist through what was then the National Credentialing Agency. In 2012, she put her teaching experience into practice taking on a position in the University of Michigan Medical Genetics Laboratory in the Department of Pediatrics and Communicable Diseases. In her current position she is responsible for the development and performance of genetic tests for rare genetic disorders. In addition, she has been recognized for her outstanding service and dedication to professionalism by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science both in 2008, by receiving the Key to the Future Award and in 2009, as the receipt of the ASCLS-Michigan Omicron Sigma Award.
