John V. Crues, III, MD, is the MRI & Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship Director and Vice President of Radnet, Inc. in Los Angeles, California, President of Pronet Imaging Medical Group, and Professor of Radiology, UCSD School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Harvard College, has a masters of science degree from the University of Illinois Department of Physics, and obtained his MD degree from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Crues has authored over 100 articles primarily addressing magnetic resonance imaging in sports medicine and rheumatology, edited 12 textbooks and CDs, and written 25 textbook chapters. He is a reviewer for numerous scientific journals, including The Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and The American Journal of Roentgenology.

He is an active member of many scientific medical societies and a Founding Member of the International Society for Extremity MRI in Rheumatology. His memberships include Fellow of the American College of Radiology, Member of the American College of Rheumatology, and a Fellow and Past President of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. His current research and teaching interests focus on the value of MRI in rheumatology, sports medicine and spine diseases.
